Approach

I started assisting a Charlotte wedding photographer at twenty, after a few years spent pointing a camera at landscapes. People turned out to be far more interesting than mountains, and I have been photographing them ever since.

I do not work to a style label. Light and airy, dark and moody: those are boxes, and a wedding day refuses to stay inside one. I edit to whatever the day actually handed us, which is exactly why these galleries do not all look the same.

Mostly I stay out of the way and wait. The stiff, formal, everybody-look-here pictures are not what you will remember, so I would rather catch the moment either side of them. Love is love here, everybody is welcome, and I will happily get on a plane.
